On 01.07.2021 The WDPO (World Drone Pilots Organization) has concluded an agreement with Silesian Metropolis on the development of legal solutions related to the use of unmanned platforms, testing unmanned platforms, stimulating the sustainable development of drone technologies and increasing the level of safety.
The growth perspective for drone technology has already been repeatedly noted in strategy papers, both at the regional and national. As practitioners, we note many signals about the need for concrete action to fully exploit the enormous potential of drone technology.
For this reason, cooperation was established between the WDPO and the Silesian Metropolis GZM, which combines the knowledge, experience and dynamics of the UAV sector, providing a friendly ecosystem for the development of this industry.
The Metropolis, while appreciating the potential and commitment of WDPO as an organization promoting and popularizing drone technologies, has signed a letter of intent on cooperation in terms of testing unmanned platforms and developing legal solutions related to the use of unmanned platforms, serving to stimulate the sustainable development of drone technologies and increasing the level of safety.
The subject of the contract is also support and activities of both entities in the field of:
- Development of research and innovation technology,
- Dissemination and implementation of new technical solutions using UAV,
- Stimulating the sustainable development of drone technologies in economic practice,
- Development of solutions to improve safety and education in the use of UAV,
- Working together to create and efficiently use the infrastructure key to the UAV,
- Assistance and consultation with the UAV industry.
