Recommendations on the Coronavirus

In order to limit the spread of COVID-19 virus, it is recommended that drone operations be carried out in a way that limits the possibility of virus transmission between people.

Flying drones:

  1. Disinfect your hands with a disinfectant before commencing aerial operations,
  2. Before the first contact with the drone, disinfect its surface with a disinfectant or a cloth soaked in soapy water. Take care not to flood places not resistant to moisture,
  3. After landing and before returning the drone to the warehouse, disinfect your hands and the surface of the drone again.

The above applies especially to operators, where many pilots use one equipment.

Recommendations regarding the training process:

  1. Theoretical training should be conducted only in the form of e-learning or distance learning (webinars),
  2. It is recommended that practical ground based be implemented by means of distane-learning on a platform enabling interaction with the student: two-way conversation and image transmission from the camera and screen sharing,
  3. Practical training should be conducted in accordance with the following principles:
    1. Maintaining a minimum distance of 1 meter from the student,
    2. Before starting the training, the trainee should disinfect their hands with a disinfectant or by washing their hands with soap and water for not less than 20 seconds,
    3. Apparatus and other elements (parts of the drone) that are in contact with the student should be disinfected before and after each student,
    4. Remember not to shake hands.

Recommendations regarding the examination process:

  1. Exams should not be taken in groups, they should be taken only individually,
  2. It is recommended that theoretical examinations be carried out remotely - on the examination platform under the supervision of an online instructor or examiner. WDPO may provide the training centers with an on-line platform free of charge to interested training centers (for this purpose please submit an inquiry to the address: office@wdpo.org),
  3. The practical exam can be arranged after passing the theoretical exam,
  4. Practical exams should be arranged individually for a given hour,
  5. It is recommended that during the practical exam the examiner also verify theoretical knowledge,
  6. The practical exam should be carried out in accordance with the following principles:
  7. Maintaining a minimum distance of 1 meter from the examined person,
    1. The examinee before taking the exam should disinfect his hands with a disinfectant or by washing his hands with soap and water for not less than 30 seconds,
    2. Apparatus and other elements (parts of the drone) which are in contact with the student should be disinfected before and after each examination,
    3. If possible, it is recommended that the examinations be carried out on the examiner's own (individual) equipment.
    4. Remember not to shake hands.
